COMPREHENSIVE INTRODUCTION

Our entry level certificate program provides a comprehensive foundation in chaplaincy and emergency response. This foundational course covers the duties and responsibilities of a first responder chaplain, including responding to trauma incidents and ensuring safety. It also explores protocols for interacting with law enforcement personnel, firefighters, and homeland security operatives. Additionally, the course addresses critical topics such as ensuring pre-incident preparedness, mitigating critical incident stress management, the basic principles of post-traumatic stress reduction, and the essentials of making a proper and compassionate death notification. Furthermore, it provides guidance on addressing domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and suicide prevention through early intervention. By equipping chaplains with essential knowledge and skills, this course enables successful graduates to effectively serve in emergent situations.

BUILDING UPON EXCELLENCE

This advanced program offers comprehensive instruction on operational guidelines for chaplains and first responders ministering during disasters, with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining integrity and compassion in the face of profound tragedy. Through our proprietary step-by-step guidance, students master the essential elements of critical procedures, including providing crowd control, engaging in traffic direction, facilitating body recovery in disaster areas, and establishing a targeted crisis management response in emotionally charged environments. Other topics covered include law enforcement-specific protocols, such as handcuffing and arresting procedures, as well as guidelines for more generalized settings, such as reducing the risks associated with blood-borne pathogens.

Additionally, this program delves into other advanced topics, including Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) techniques designed to mitigate the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) through the application of structured debriefings and support strategies. Furthermore, the curriculum encompasses in-depth studies in the areas of traumatology, support groups, and suicide prevention tactics. Upon completing this course, chaplains acquire the expertise necessary to navigate complex, high-stress situations and provide effective support to first responders, military personnel, and the general public.

FOSTERING EXPERTISE

This course provides comprehensive training on the legal framework governing chaplaincy, public prayer, and emergency response. Students can expect to explore the finer points of establishing psychologically aware Christian counseling practices and strategies in their own personal practices. Topics such as the historic importance of chaplaincy, the modern relevance of understanding mental health as a facet of Christ centered spirituality, and the necessity of the separation of church and state will also be covered.
